How does the system work?
Caleycom is different to copper phone lines - we send our data through the air using radio waves.
This means, unlike traditional broadband, we don't lose speed over distance so even the most remote of properties can still benefit from superfast broadband.
We own and operate the network, this allows us to monitor every link in the chain to ensure the service is running optimally.
Don't confuse our technology with Satellite Broadband however, whilst satellite broadband relies on large and expansive dishes we use smaller and relatively inexpensive wireless receivers.
During installation we would send one of our professional engineers to your home to measure the signal strength. He will then discuss with you the best and least obtrusive place to site the receiver. Our receivers are typically 300mm across, less than half the size of a conventional satellite TV dish.
Once the receiver is installed, a cable is run from there to a point of your choosing inside the property, this is where our included WiFi router will be installed. It's best to think about where you'd like this to go before our engineer arrives.
Due to other work, the previous owners decided to hand over the service to Aberdeen Technical Services, a local company specialising in CCTV, security and telecoms systems in October 2013. More info about Aberdeen Technical Services can be found at www.aberdeentechnical.co.uk
With a workforce of 24 people including installation and system engineers, we are now able to offer a quicker response to faults and installations.
In addition to the Broadband Service, we can offer a complete CCTV design and installation service with remote monitoring and Internet phone connections enabling you to cancel your traditional landline phone.
If you are out of the catchment area for the Wireless Internet coverage we can supply and install Satellite Broadband Services and LTE based systems.
